Cheryl Rubin, President of Rubin & Associates, has 25 years strategic communications experience in public policy, and private and non-profit sectors in Washington, DC, Sacramento, California and on Madison Avenue, NY. She is a recipient of the Silver Anvil award, which is the Public Relations Society of America’s highest honor.
She previously served as Vice President of Communications for the Sacramento-based California Forest Products Commission and The Forest Foundation, its affiliated organization. The nationally acclaimed programs Rubin directed gained unprecedented media coverage, shaped public perceptions aimed at keeping forests growing and provided an effective counterpoint to opponents of active forest management.
Prior experience includes directing an award-winning public relations program for The Heritage Foundation, one of Washington’s most influential organizations. At a top Madison Avenue public relations firm with Fortune 500 and trade association clientele, Rubin earned the Silver Anvil Award on behalf of Honeywell Inc. in a program that demonstrated how public relations can sell products. Other clients included Kodak, the American Bankers Association and Timberland Co. In addition, Rubin served as Director of Public Relations for United Way of America and worked for ABC TV’s “Good Morning America.”
